Two EU-funded projects conclude their work on urban freight distribution
The first of these projects is the Horizon 2020 project called "Buyzet". This developed zero-emission procurement plans for each of the consortium's cities. The second project, which has also recently concluded its activities, is SULPiTER (supported by Interreg's Central Europe Programme). The project examined logistics and transport in seven European cities in order to identify best practices in the field of urban goods distribution.

EU budget for 2021-2027: Commission welcomes the provisional agreement on funding for the environment and climate action
The European Commission welcomes the provisional agreement reached by the European Parliament and Council on the LIFE programme for the Environment and Climate Action, as part of the next long-term EU budget 2021-2027.
The funding will focus on protecting the environment and mitigating climate change, supporting a clean energy transition with increased energy efficiency and a higher share of renewables in the energy mix. This will be one of the tools enabling the EU to meet its climate goals and seek to become climate-neutral by 2050.
Clean mobility: Commission welcomes European Parliament adoption of new CO2 emission standards for cars and vans to reduce pollution and improve air quality
The European Parliament today agreed on CO2 emission standards for new cars and vans in the EU for the period after 2020 – a significant step towards decarbonising and modernising the European mobility sector and put the EU on track to become climate neutral. As a result of the new rules, in 2030, emissions from new cars will have to be 37.5% lower and emissions from new vans 31% lower, compared to 2021.
